Furthering Women’s Rights

Vital Voices Global Partnership believes in the transformative value of women‘s participation in society. Founded in 1999, this nonprofit non-governmental organization (NGO) invests in emerging women leaders-pioneers of economic development, political participation, and human rights in their countries and helps them build the capabilities, connections, and credibility they need to unlock their potential as catalysts of global progress.

LexisNexis is a proud supporter of Vital Voices. In 2007, Elizabeth Rector, Senior Vice President, Corporate Responsibility for LexisNexis was a panel speaker in Vital Voices of Eurasia: A Leadership Summit for Women & Girls. Launched in Kyiv, Ukraine, the summit was held to advance civil society and combat human trafficking in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. Over the course of this 4-day event, 150 attendees from 25 countries received business training, leadership development and mentoring.

We believe if we engage our resources on this issue we can join with many others to end the exploitation of women, advance human rights for all people, and aid in the development of stronger world economies which can result in more opportunities for women.
