Online Registration Procedure
IMPORTANT: If you already have a Quicklaw™ user ID and password from this year or last year, please do not register again. If you have lost or forgotten your ID and password, please contact Customer Support. (You also may click the Forgot Your Password? link on the Quicklaw login screen if you have lost your password.)
New Users Only: Registration is easy. Please follow the instructions below while logged into your law school or law library computer network. You will create your own easy-to-remember user ID and password that you can use from any location 24/7.
Click the Sign Out link located at the top right of the Quicklaw screen.
From the window that appears, select the Click here if you no longer want to save your sign-in information option.
This is highly recommended if you are logged in from a law school lab or any other public terminal.
If you clicked the Register Later button located at the bottom of the Sign In page, you will be
prompted with the Terms of Use window.
Click the View Terms & Conditions link and then click the Accept button to proceed to the Quicklaw
service. You will not be able to personalize your access, and you may have a limited source selection. To obtain full, personalized
access, you must register.
Click the Customize link located at the top right of the Quicklaw screen to register.
The registration procedure creates a personal contract between you and LexisNexis Canada. The academic institution is not responsible
for the use of your ID and password and is not privy to the contract.
LexisNexis Canada considers the registration procedure to be a binding online contract (a "click-through" contract).
The contract allows LexisNexis Canada to suspend access to Quicklaw when the student is not enrolled (i.e., between school
terms, during work placement, or during other employment). There are limited exceptions to this suspension of service.
Furthermore, there are limitations on the use that may be made of Quicklaw sources under the General Terms and Conditions
for use of the LexisNexis® Quicklaw™ Services.
Existing IDs and passwords are automatically reactivated when the school term begins again, until the graduation date
indicated. Please do not repeat the above registration procedure to obtain another ID and password. Please
contact Customer
Support if you require assistance.
