David Waites is a partner at Lerners LLP, based in its London office. He has more than 25 years of experience representing and advising clients in all aspects of estates and guardianship litigation, mediation, and other forms of alternative dispute resolution. 

His expertise includes challenges to the validity of a will; defence of the validity of a will; obtaining orders where formal proof that a will is valid and enforceable is required; dependent's support applications; bankruptcy and insolvency; equalization elections under the Family Law Act; constructive and resulting trust claims; unjust enrichment and quantum merit claims (i.e. claims for compensation in relation to services provided to the deceased); orders for the removal of an estate trustee; passing of accounts; interpretation of wills and trusts; solicitor's negligence claims; and appointment, removal or replacement guardianship application.

He has been recognized by his peers for his litigation expertise in the 2019 and 2020 editions of Best Lawyers in Canada.
