Douglas A. Palmateer was the Director of Professional Development and Knowledge Management at Aird & Berlis and a former member of the firm's Financial Services Group. Doug was called to the Ontario Bar in 1980, joined the firm in 1985, became a partner in 1988, and, in 2008, retired from practice. During his years in practice, Doug worked in the areas of bankruptcy and insolvency and secured financing transactions. His extensive experience in bankruptcy and insolvency includes advising creditors (secured and unsecured), debtors, trustees in bankruptcy, receivers (private and court-appointed), monitors and agents in bankruptcies, receiverships, liquidations, restructurings, workouts and security enforcements. He also regularly represented both lenders and borrowers in secured lending transactions.
