Ellen Pekilis provides strategic advice and practical solutions to executive teams and boards of directors in complex regulated industries. Ms Pekilis was General Counsel of CSA Group and Executive Director of Energy Exchange. She has domestic and global acquisition and compliance experience. Ellen currently sits on the boards of CADTH, Oikocredit Canada, and Endeavour Consulting for Non-profits. Ellen formerly served on the Council (board) of the College of Optometrists of Ontario.. She serves on both Governance and Finance & Audit Committees for her various boards. Ellen is a speaker and writer on compliance, governance and standards-related issues.

Ellen Pekilis is an independent board director with expertise in governance, strategic planning, risk management and corporate social responsibility. She was formerly General Counsel for CSA Group. She was accountable for global enterprise risk management, compliance and privacy in addition to legal services. She has global M & A and post-acquisition integration experience and writes about corporate governance and women in leadership for LexisNexis and Women Get On Board.

Ellen currently sits on the boards of CADTH, Oikocredit Canada, and Endeavour Consulting for Non-profits. Ellen formerly served on the Council (board) of the College of Optometrists of Ontario. Ellen has significant Governance Committee experience, serving in that capacity on three boards, and on the Finance & Audit Committee of two of them. Ellen continues to Chair the College’s Quality Assurance sub-committee and is past Chair of the College’s Strategic Planning Committee. She has Chaired discipline tribunals for the College and is a member of the Electrical Safety Authority Review Panel roster.

Ellen is a native of Montreal and graduated with her B.A. from the University of Toronto (1987) and LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School (1989).
