Geneviève Cloutier is a partner at Gowling WLG's Montréal office. Her practice principally focuses in the areas of insolvency and restructuring, distressed acquisition as well as banking and commercial litigation.
 
Geneviève regularly represents financial institutions and private lenders with respect to the enforcement of security agreements and personal guarantees, the negotiation of standstill agreements and various insolvency-related issues. She has been involved in several matters involving corporate reorganizations, arrangements, bankruptcies, receiverships and other forms of liquidation of assets where she acted either for debtors, lenders, purchasers, secured and unsecured creditors, directors or various accounting firms in their capacity as trustees, monitors and receivers.
 
She frequently appears before the Superior Court and the Court of Appeal of Quebec.
 
Geneviève teaches security enforcement and insolvency at the Quebec Bar School (École du Barreau du Québec).
 
Geneviève practises in both English and French.
