Ms. Lang has practised family law for 31 years in her boutique firm. She is active in the family law bar, having presented and written papers throughout her career. Latterly she has focused her practice on appellate litigation, mediation and arbitration, and litigation strategy. She has been selected as a leading family law lawyer by Best Lawyers in Canada and Lexpert.

Georgialee Lang has practised family law for 31 years. She began her career with a major blue-chip law firm where she spent 5 years and developed their family law and estate litigation practices.

In 1994 she launched her own firm under the name of Georgialee Lang & Associates. Starting with one associate, she grew the firm to include five lawyers and multiple paralegals.

During the earlier years of her practice, she took leadership roles in a number of organizations, including the Canadian Bar Association ("CBA") as an elected member of council; executive member of the CBA's Family Law Section, finishing as president; treasurer of the Lawyer's Benevolent Association; board member of Legal Services Society; invited member of The Advocates Club; executive member of University of British Columbia Law Alumni; invited member of Attorney General's Family Law Act Advisory Group; participant in video for Judge's Conference; participant in Knowledge Network video for in-person litigants; and executive member of the board of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators UK.

She set up and offered advice in a free monthly legal clinic in East Vancouver from March 2005 to March 2010, assisting the poor and the working poor. She has been the pro bono coordinator for the British Columbia Court of Appeal Pro Bono Project since its inception and spends hundreds of hours providing pro bono services.

She has been qualified as an expert witness in family law by courts in British Columbia, Hong Kong and the United Kingdom. She has written extensively including for The Lawyers Weekly, The Advocate, Continuing Legal Education, the American Bar Association, the Canadian Bar Association, Trial Lawyers of B.C., Canadian Bar Review, National Post, Huffington Post, Toronto Sun, Pacific Business and Law Institute and ADVOCIIS.

She regularly appears as a commentator for radio, television and internet media in the area of family law.

Ms. Lang pens a legal blog at focusing on articles about lawyers, judges, family law, criminal law and political pieces. She is a mentor in the BC Supreme Court Inns of Court program in the area of media and the law. She is also currently the Family Law Coordinator for the Trial Lawyers of B.C. and an invited member of the Supreme Court of Canada Advocacy Institute and the International Academy of Family Law Lawyers. She has been ranked as a leading lawyer in family law by Best Lawyers in Canada and Lexpert for multiple years.
