Georgina is a litigator passionate about protecting the intellectual capital of her clients. Anti-counterfeiting cases (Trademark counterfeiting/copyright piracy) and cases involving fraud, theft of confidential information, trade secrets, corporate opportunities and tangible property are her area of interest. She designs proactive and defensive solutions to combat fraud, piracy, counterfeiting and theft. She has extensive experience obtaining extraordinary remedies including, Anton Piller orders; preservation orders; and declaratory and injunctive relief. She regularly interfaces with police, customs and the Crown in the execution of criminal search warrants and the prosecution of criminal counterfeiting cases.

Georgina Starkman Danzig protects the intellectual property and the intellectual capital of her clients. She designs proactive and defensive solutions to combat counterfeiting, piracy, theft and fraud. She also actively litigates before the Federal Court of Canada and the Ontario Superior Court in all manner of anti-counterfeiting and anti-piracy cases as well as cases involving theft of confidential information, trade secrets, corporate opportunities and tangible property. She has extensive experience dealing in extraordinary remedies including, Anton Piller orders; preservation orders; and other forms of declaratory, mandatory and injunctive relief.

Georgina is sought-after as an Independent Supervising Solicitor in respect of the execution of Anton Piller orders in intellectual property and commercial disputes having served these orders in diverse environments including, commercial and industrial complexes, shopping plazas and residential environments.

In addition to civil litigation, she works with law enforcement, customs, and other professionals to secure the most appropriate and least costly remedies for her clients. She commonly assists law enforcement in securing information and evidence necessary to obtain a criminal search warrant and she coordinates and secures the resources necessary to support law enforcement, as appropriate, in investigations and enforcements. She also interfaces between victims and the police to ensure the Crown has the necessary testimonial and evidentiary support to secure a conviction. She has extensive expertise in all aspects of Canada’s border enforcement regime in relation to counterfeit goods and pirated works. She has been and continues to be a thought-leader on effective anti-counterfeiting legislation, policy and practise.
