Mark Vanderveken advises clients on regulatory compliance and intellectual property matters, with a particular focus on the life sciences industry.

Mark provides strategic guidance on the production and sale of regulated products, including pharmaceuticals, food, cosmetics, natural health products, and medical devices. He also assists clients with the protection and commercialization of intellectual property assets.

Mark articled with a global law firm before joining Fasken, and was seconded to a leading pharmaceutical company during his articling term. He is a graduate of the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law.

  • Advised Echelon Wealth Partners Inc., as sole agent and bookrunner, in its $10 million private placement of units in connection with securities law and intellectual property law matter
  • The agents in Valeo Pharma’s US$3.1 million public offering.
  • Advised Aphria in connection with its offering of US$350 million of convertible senior notes
  • Advised the underwriters in Drone Delivery Canada’s C$10.02 million bought deal prospectus offering.
  • Advised Mackie Research Capital Corporation on Acasti Pharma's C$27.6 million common share offer.
  • Advised Beacon Securities Limited as it led a syndicate of underwriters including GMP Securities that conducted a bought deal short form prospectus offering for Village Farms International for C$22 million.
  • Advised Mackie Research Capital Corporation as sole bookrunner and underwriter for the US$11.5 million common share and warrant offering of Acasti Pharma.
  • Advised Aphria Inc. with a definitive agreement with Tilray, Inc. pursuant to which Tilray will acquire all the issued and outstanding shares of Aphria by way of a plan of arrangement.
