Robert Mason is a leading lawyer in Canadian and international M&A and corporate finance transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, reverse take-overs, initial public offerings, equity and debt financings, private equity investments and alternative finance arrangements. Robert is highly recognized as a leading lawyer in the area of mine streaming and royalty transactions. He is also developing a global esports practice and has led many of the most recognized esports transactions in Canada. Robert frequently advises boards of directors and special committees on going private and other significant transactions.

He has broad international experience, frequently advising on transactions with global connections to countries such Australia, Chile, Argentina, Colombia, South Africa and Mexico.

  • Aquilini GameCo in connection with its reverse take-over of J55 Capital Corp., the acquisition
  • by plan of arrangement of Enthusiast Gaming Holdings Inc. and the acquisition of a non-controlling interest in the Vancouver Titans esports team
  • Flight Network in connection with its share sale to a private equity investor (2019)
  • PolyMet Mining Corp. with its US$250 million rights offering (2019)
  • Marathon Gold Corporation in its sale of a royalty to Franco-Nevada Corporation (2019)
  • Osisko Bermuda Limited in connection with various streaming and restructuring transactions, including the restructuring of its debt and streaming arrangements with Lydian International (2019) and the entering into of a streaming arrangement with Blackham Resources (2019/2018)
