Justice Victoria Starr

Justice Starr was appointed to the Ontario Court of Justice (Milton) in July 2014. Prior to her appointment, Justice Starr had practiced exclusively in the area of family law for over 18 years, and from 2007 to 2014, she managed her own firm, Starr Family Law.

Justice Starr was appointed to the Ontario Court of Justice (Milton) in July 2014. Prior to her appointment, Justice Starr had practiced exclusively in the area of family law for over 18 years, and from 2007 to 2014, she managed her own firm, Starr Family Law.

Justice Starr's practice included a particular expertise in high-conflict custody, access and child protection cases, particularly those involving domestic violence or sexual abuse. She also represented children in both custody and access and child protection matters as a member of the Children's Lawyer Panel. In addition to her litigation experience, Justice Starr was an accredited mediator, certified arbitrator and certified collaborative family law lawyer. She holds an LL.M. in family law.

Justice Starr is a past Chair of the Family Lawyers Association and past Vice-Chair of the Ontario Bar Association's Family Law Section. She has taught at Centennial College and served as a faculty member of various CLE programs, including the Family Law Institute, Annual Judicial Family Law Program, Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (2013, Los Angeles), 311 Jarvis Open Bar Series, and the Solo and Small Firm Conference.
