New Tribunals Option in Advanced Cases Advanced Search Form

With this release we continued to make enhancements to the Lexis Advance Quicklaw Cases Advanced Search Form by adding the ability to restrict search results to a specific Tribunal. This new feature allows the user to restrict use the Advanced Search form to conduct a targeted Tribunal Search.

To use this feature:

  1. From the Lexis Advance Quicklaw homepage, select Advanced Search.
  2. Under Select a specific content type, select Cases.
  3. Under Jurisdiction, select the Jurisdiction for the Tribunal you would like to search (i.e. below we have selected Federal).
  4. Click the Select Courts/Tribunals icon.
  5. A Court box appears, select the Tribunals Tab.
  6. Use the check box provided to select the Tribunal you would like to search.
  7. Click OK.

New "Headnotes" Segment (Field)
Allows for searching of Summary and Keywords Segments Simultaneously

In response to customer feedback, we have added a new "Headnotes" Segment. This new segment allows the user to search the keyword and summary segments in our case law collection simultaneously.

To use this feature from the Big Red Search Box:

  1. In Big Red Search Box type Headnotes(Search Terms), for example below we entered headnotes(prospectus).
  2. Then click the magnifying glass to run the search.

To use this feature from the Cases Advance Search Form:

  1. Select Advanced Search.
  2. Under Select a specific content type, select Cases.
  3. Enter the terms you would like to search for in the Headnotes Segment box.

QuickCITE New Filtering Options

We are pleased to announce the expansion of the filtering option for QuickCITE on Lexis Advance Quicklaw. While in a QuickCITE record for a case you can now use new filtering options under Court, Year and Jurisdiction restrict your results within the QuickCITE record. Options include the ability to further filter as follows:

    1. Under the Court Tab – Use the options in the X and Y axes on the graph to further restrict your QuickCITE results by Treatment or Jurisdiction.
    2. Under the Year Tab – Use the options in the X and Y axes on the graph to further restrict your QuickCITE results by Treatment or Year.
    3. Under the Jurisdiction Tab - Use the options in the X and Y axes on the graph to further restrict your QuickCITE results by Treatment or Jurisdiction.

Enhancements for IP Authenticated Subscribers

We continue to make enhancements to Lexis Advance Quicklaw for clients accessing the service via IP Authentication. With this release, we added a new feature which allows individuals in an IP Authenticated environment to login using individual passwords so they can access personal settings such as folders and alerts.


Accessibility Enhancements

Enhancements continue to be made to Lexis Advance Quicklaw to provide improved accessibility for persons with disabilities. With this release continued enhancements were made to the Lexis Advance Quicklaw Help Screens and a project to improve accessibility with our image tagging features was commenced.
