Lexis Advance® Quicklaw® Update
Improvements to Legal Topics
February 2022

 Print This Page

We update our classification on an ongoing basis to ensure it reflects recent legal developments, legislative changes, and emerging topics, and to add granularity to important areas.

  • In Criminal Law, we have added the topic Consent in the context of sexual assault, and the topic Aboriginal offenders to cover the consideration of the accused’s aboriginal heritage in the sentencing process.
  • In Health Law, we have added the topic Vaccination as a measure of infectious disease control.
  • For Labour and Employment Law practitioners, we have added 26 new common law legal topics, covering topics relative to employee discipline and termination with cause. These topics are already available in our civil law classification. We have also added topics relating to workplace discrimination, the duty to accommodate, and harassment in both our common law and civil law classifications. These more granular topics allow you to easily navigate to relevant content.
