Corporate Social Responsibility

LexisNexis® Cares

LexisNexis Canada is committed to advancing the rule of law. We define the rule of law as the presence of four key elements:

  • All are equal under the law
  • Transparency of law
  • Independent judiciary
  • Accessible legal remedy

To promote the rule of law, we invest in many programs in the following areas:

  • Community: Directly supporting local, national, and international not-for-profit organizations who are also engaged in the Rule of Law cause;
  • Employees: Empowering and supporting our employees as they participate in community events around the rule of law;
  • Industry and Non-Governmental Organizations: Engage directly with legal industry organizations and non-governmental organizations to promote the rule of law;
  • Supplier Code of Conduct: Hold ourselves to the highest ethical standards in our business operations around the world;
  • Products: Create products and services that are accessible and that contribute directly to transparency of law.

Community and Employees

Through our global RE Cares program, each year we give our employees two days off to volunteer for charitable organizations.

September is RE Cares Month worldwide. LexisNexis Canada encourages our employees to give their time and skills to our charity partners. We also hold fundraising events across Canada, including sponsored walks, potlucks, bake sales and escape rooms.

LexisNexis Canada is a proud supporter of:

Lawyers Feed the Hungry provides hundreds of hot meals per week to people in need, and support to charitable agencies that help with hunger relief. It is operated by the Law Society of Ontario in Toronto, Barrie, Hamilton, Peel, London, Ottawa and Windsor.

Innocence Canada’s mandate is to identify, advocate for, and exonerate individuals who have been convicted of a crime they did not commit and to prevent wrongful convictions through legal education and reform.

Daily Bread Food Bank is a registered charity that is fighting hunger in the Greater Toronto Area. Last year, Daily Bread provided food for 716,000 visits to member agency food banks. It prepares more than 3,000 meals in its kitchen that are sent out every week to shelters, hostels and neighbourhood meal programs.

Industry and Non-Governmental Organizations

We work with others in our industry to unlock the social, political and economic potential that exists in societies around the globe.

Supplier Code of Conduct

LexisNexis is committed to the highest standards of corporate responsibility in every aspect of our business and in every corner of the world. At a minimum, we require that all LexisNexis suppliers meet the standards expressed in our Supplier Code of Conduct.

Products

We continue to invest in making our products accessible. See our AODA policy document (PDF).
